Tabula Rasa HealthCare Welcomes Dr. Elizabeth Hengstebeck

Elizabeth Hengstebeck, DO, has joined Tabula Rasa HealthCare’s Capstone Risk Adjustment Solutions team as a physician consultant. Dr. Hengstebeck will deliver training in risk adjustment methodology and clinical documentation to physicians and other clinicians who practice in Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE).

Prior to joining TRHC, Dr. Hengstebeck served as the medical director for Senior Community Care of Michigan (SCCMI), a PACE program, from 2018 to 2024. In this role, she spearheaded a partnership between SCCMI and Michigan State University establishing clinical rotations for students in the medical, nurse practitioner, and nursing programs, and served as the chair for the Michigan Medical Directors Group.

Board-certified in Family Medicine, Dr. Hengstebeck devoted much of her career to working in rural, underserved communities in North Florida in both a critical access hospital and federally qualified health center. She transitioned into academic medicine, serving as the Chair of Family Medicine at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine from 2013 to 2016. Dr. Hengstebeck returned in 2016 to her home state of Michigan and joined Michigan State University College of Human Medicine as clinical faculty.

Dr. Hengstebeck received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSU-COM) and completed a Family Medicine Residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Michigan. Following her residency, Dr. Hengstebeck served in the U.S. Navy from 1998-2002. As a Lieutenant Commander, she spent three years at the Naval Hospital in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, followed by one year at the Naval Air Station in Whiting Field, Florida.
