Cost Avoidance of $5,024 Per Participant Year-to-Year

A peer-reviewed study published in the March 2022 issue of the journal Healthcare showed that Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) receiving medication risk mitigation (MRM) services as clients of CareKinesis PACE Pharmacy consumed $5,024 less per participant in medical costs year-over-year than PACE plans not using CareKinesis. Most of those costs – 76% – involved facility-related expenses, such as emergency room visits and hospitalizations. Multiplied over its entire census, similar cost avoidance could be significant to a program.
