After more than 30 years in the field of geriatric care, including more than 15 years focusing on PACE (Programs for All-inclusive Care for the Elderly), Capstone Performance Systems founding CEO Richard Schamp, MD, has announced he is turning over the reigns of the company to colleague Kim Browning. After a short break, Dr. Schamp will provide broader leadership support through Tabula Rasa HealthCare (TRHC), Capstone’s parent company.
In the past year, Capstone’s leadership team has taken steps to prepare for this transition, including reorganizing the company’s structure; adding a Planning, Management, and Development arm; and expanding the physician risk-adjustment consulting team. Capstone also expanded into Technical Assistance Consulting through the addition of Dorothy Ginsberg, RN, and Mandy Hurley, PACE consultants who previously worked for Altitude Edge Consultants.
“The progress of our teams and leaders has been amazing,” said Dr. Schamp. “They have been handpicked to move Capstone forward in ways I could never do by myself. I have a lot of confidence in the success of this transition.”
Ms. Browning, who joined TRHC in May, is highly qualified for this leadership role. Most recently she served as Executive Vice President of Cognisight, LLC, where she led business strategy and added new product and service lines. Her career also includes leadership roles at several Blue Cross Blue Shield plans in New Jersey and Excellus Medicaid Plan in New York. During her tenure as division head for State Government Programs at Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield, the plan was ranked number one in New York and number three nationally for Medicaid contractors in US News & World Report’s 2009 rankings of health plans.
